Steven Lien has over 20 years of experience and is knowledgeable in many areas of kraft recovery technology. He has a wide variety of experience with research and experimental methods in the area of chemical recovery, most recently in the area of black liquor evaporation and crystallization. He has also worked on black liquor combustion (including single droplet combustion and char bed burning), spraying of black liquor and droplet formation, sintering of fume deposits, and the use of computer models for recovery boiler simulation. He has a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin as well as a MS degree from the Institute of Paper Science and Technology.
